Minister Harjot Singh: Punjab to Send Second Batch of Primary School Teachers to Finland for Training in March.

Minister Harjot Singh, the School Education Minister, along with experts from Finland University, visits the School of Eminence in SAS Nagar.

Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced during his visit to the School of Eminence in Phase 11, SAS Nagar (Mohali), on Wednesday that the Punjab Government is preparing to send a second batch of 72 primary school teachers to Finland for training in March. He was accompanied by a group of experts from the University of Turku, Finland.

The School Education Minister announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the University of Turku to support the training of the second batch of 72 primary school teachers. The three-week training program will include one week in Punjab and two weeks in Finland.

Minister Harjot Singh Bains warmly welcomed the group of experts, including Mr. Ari Kioski, Mr. Joel, Ms. Mirjami Einola, and Ms. Sari Isokytö-Sinjoi. During their visit, the Education Minister expressed his gratitude for their collaboration and expertise, emphasizing their crucial role in enhancing the quality of school education in the state.

The involvement of experts from Finland underscores a commitment to enhancing educational standards and fostering the exchange of best practices between Punjab and Finland, he stated, noting that their insights and guidance will play a key role in shaping the training curriculum and ensuring a fruitful exchange of knowledge.

The goal of the training program, as explained by Minister Harjot Singh Bains, is to equip teachers with effective primary school teaching techniques. He further emphasized that this initiative will help teachers acquire valuable skills and methodologies to improve their teaching practices and student outcomes. The program focuses on innovative teaching strategies aligned with modern educational standards, ensuring that teachers are well-prepared to address the diverse needs of their students.

During the visit, National Award-winning Art & Craft Teacher Gurpreet Singh Namdhari showcased his artistic talent by inviting guests to participate in a live painting of the Finland flag, outlined by the map of the European country. The group of experts was thoroughly impressed by the art and craft skills of the school students.

The Education Minister also honored the experts by presenting them with paintings created by the students. The event was attended by Director of School Education Ms. Amaninder Kaur Brar, DEO Ginni Duggal, Principal of the School of Eminence in Phase 11 Lovish Chawla, and other officials from the school department and staff.
