Minister Kailash Gahlot
Delhi Minister Kailash Gahlot was called in for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate today, one week after the agency arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Kailash Gahlot, a 49-year-old AAP MLA from Najafgarh, serves as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s minister for law, home, and transportation in the Delhi government. Kejriwal has been arrested by the federal police in connection with this case.
The minister arrived at the ED office in central Delhi around 11:30 am to provide his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Kailash Gahlot’s management of a single SIM number has drawn scrutiny from the ED because it has been revealed that his IMEI (international mobile equipment identify) has been altered several times.
The agency has highlighted Kailash Gahlot’s relationship to Vijay Nair, the AAP communications chief who was previously detained, pointing out that Nair lived in a government villa that Gahlot was given, even though the latter was a resident of Najafgarh.
Allowing a public servant to give their government house to someone else is referred to by the Enforcement Directorate as a “criminal breach of trust.” The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) thereafter got involved in the case.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia were previously detained in relation to the liquor policy scandal.
