Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak distributed grants totaling around ₹2.5 crore to 48 newly formed panchayats in the Bhoa assembly constituency for various development projects and essential infrastructure improvements.
Speaking to a gathering of Sarpanches and Panches at a function in village Kataruchak, Minister Lal Chand emphasized that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is fully committed to the state’s progress, with a particular focus on village development. He highlighted that the current government has allocated substantial funds to enhance basic amenities in rural areas, with ₹2.5 crore being distributed today for the development of villages.
Responding to media questions, Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak stated that since assuming power in 2022, the Mann government has made village development a top priority, continuously providing grants for the same. The ₹2.47 crore distributed will be used for various projects, including the construction of community halls, drainage and sewerage systems, installation of solar lights, deep bore wells, waste management initiatives, smart village projects, playgrounds, and the development of ponds and water bodies.
Minister Lal Chand emphasized that these grants were allocated to the newly formed panchayats based on their specific needs, without any party bias or discrimination. He urged panchayat members to ensure proper utilization of the funds and assured that there would be no shortage of financial resources for village development.
The event was also attended by several key figures, including Naresh Saini (District President, BC Wing), Pawan Kumar Fauji (Block President), Subedar Kulwant Singh (Block President), Khushbir Katal, Raja Baknaur, Urmila Devi (Sarpanch of village Kataruchak), Saurabh Bahl, Bhupinder Singh Thakur, and other party workers.
