Stressing the critical importance of swiftly completing the e-KYC process to ensure that eligible beneficiaries continue receiving free ration (wheat), Punjab Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak on Tuesday issued firm instructions to all District Food Supply Controllers (DFSCs) to carry out the remaining work on a war footing within their respective areas.

During a video conferencing review meeting with the DFSCs, the Minister was informed that, out of 1.57 crore total beneficiaries in the state, e-KYC has been successfully completed for 1.25 crore beneficiaries (1,25,55,621). Despite June 30, 2025, being the deadline for completion, a significant number of beneficiaries are still pending verification despite concerted efforts.
