Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar met with Advocate General of Punjab, S. Gurminder Singh, today to discuss the policy for regularizing temporary (contractual/ad-hoc) employees of Punjab Roadways and Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC).
Additional Chief Secretary Shri D.K. Tiwari and other senior department officials were also present at the meeting.
Minister Laljit Singh stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is taking swift action to ensure job security and stability for employees who have long served in the Transport Department.
Minister Laljit Singh mentioned that the discussion with the Advocate General covered various aspects of the regularization process, with the goal of creating a policy that is both beneficial to the employees and legally sound, ensuring smooth implementation.
The Minister reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to protecting the rights of Roadways and PRTC employees, recognizing their dedicated service and taking responsibility for securing their future.
Minister Laljit Singh directed Transport Department officials to finalize the policy as soon as possible and present it to the Government. He added that providing job stability to employees would also improve the efficiency and quality of transport services.
