Punjab Industries and Power Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that the state government will establish a dedicated authority to manage and maintain all Industrial Focal Points, ensuring industrialists’ concerns are effectively addressed.
Minister Sanjeev said tenders worth ₹100 crore have already been issued to upgrade these focal points with better sewerage, CCTV cameras, lighting, roads, and other facilities. To further support industry, exhibition centers will soon be developed in Mohali, Amritsar, and Ludhiana.
Highlighting the government’s initiatives, Minister Sanjeev said the “Rising Punjab – From Suggestions to Solutions” events are being organized across major cities, starting from Amritsar, to strengthen direct engagement with industrialists. He shared that Punjab has already attracted investments worth ₹1.14 lakh crore, creating over 4.5 lakh jobs. He also noted that long-pending issues have been resolved through the One Time Settlement Scheme, benefiting plot holders, while leasehold plot owners are being granted ownership rights to ease financial dealings.

Arora assured that all industrial approvals in Punjab will now be completed within 45 days, with initial clearances starting from the third or fourth day, entirely through an online portal—eliminating the need for visits to government offices. He emphasized that officers are addressing most concerns over the phone. To further boost industrial growth, 24 sector-specific committees have been formed, comprised entirely of industry experts, with no political members.
The minister also announced the Punjab Investment Summit scheduled for March 13–14 in Mohali, inviting industrialists, traders, NRIs, and foreign investors to explore opportunities in the state. He added that the approval limit under the Right to Business policy has been raised from ₹25 crore to ₹125 crore, with clearances assured within 5–15 days. He further stressed that taxes collected from industrialists will be reinvested back into their focal points and industrial parks, under the purview of the upcoming special authority.
Sharing recent achievements, Arora said that incentives worth ₹90 crore were granted last year, while ₹222 crore has already been distributed in just the past five months. He assured that in future, no bank guarantees will be demanded from industrialists. During his visit to the Amritsar focal points, he also directed officials to address pending issues without delay.
