Minister Sumit Godara: To simplify the procurement process, the concerned agencies should work in proper coordination with each other.
A crucial meeting chaired by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara was held at the Secretariat on Monday for procurement of wheat at support price in the state in the Rabi season 2025-26. The meeting was attended by senior officers of all concerned departments including representatives of all the five wheat procuring agencies (FCI, Rajfed, Tilam Sangh, FCCF and NAFED) in the state.
Sumit Godara said that Rajasthan is an agricultural state, and the state government is fully committed to protecting the interests of farmers. He informed that Rajasthan is emerging as a leading state in wheat production. All preparations should be completed in a time-bound manner for procurement of wheat at support price in the upcoming Rabi season. He said that all the five agencies involved in the procurement process – FCI, Rajfed, Tilam Sangh, FCCF and NAFED – should work in coordination with each other so that farmers do not face any kind of problem from the procurement of wheat to payment. He expressed the need to open new procurement centers after suitable selection in areas with high production potential and directed the officials to visit the districts and identify the required places. Shri Godara said that proper place for procurement should be ensured in the mandis and availability of gunny bags should be ensured as per requirement. The girdawari process should be completed with complete transparency and cleanliness arrangements should also be ensured in the mandis. He said that important information regarding wheat procurement in the upcoming Rabi season should be disseminated to the farmers through publicity and necessary information should be provided to the farmers through the helpline in an effective manner.
In the meeting, Managing Director, Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation, Shri Sandeep Verma said that keeping in view the Rabi season 2025-26, proper arrangements are being ensured in all the warehouses as per the directions of the State Government. Shri Subir Kumar, Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department said that keeping in view the forthcoming Rabi season, all the concerned officers should discharge their responsibilities in the best possible manner.
The meeting was attended by Shri Saurav Chaurasia, Managing Director, FCI, Shri Rajesh Gupta, President, Tilam Sangh, Shri Narayan Singh, Managing Director, Rajfed, Madhu Sharma, FCCF, Mahendra Singh Rawat, Nafed, Smt. Poonam Singh Sagar, Additional Food Commissioner and other senior officers.
