Minister Tarunpreet Singh: National Forum Commends Punjab’s Labour Department for Achieving Full Computerization and Launching the Kirti Sahayak App.
Punjab Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond has suggested providing medical insurance, child stipends, and post-retirement pensions to workers registered under e-Shram. He made this recommendation while speaking at a two-day conference of Labour Ministers and Secretaries, which concluded in New Delhi.
During the event, Sond co-chaired a session with the Union Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh, stressing the importance of skill identification and vocational training through ITIs and polytechnics. He underscored the need for continuous upskilling and long-term worker support.

Punjab’s Labour Secretary, Manvesh Singh Sidhu, highlighted the state’s achievement of 100% computerization in the Labour Department, making it a paperless, transparent, and efficient system. He explained how this transformation has improved accountability, business processes, and service delivery.
The forum also praised the Punjab Kirti Sahayak App, which facilitates easy registration of construction workers, uses Aadhaar e-KYC for biometric verification, and ensures timely service delivery.
Key discussions at the conference included best practices for construction worker welfare, integrating ESIC with the ABJAY scheme, and enhancing primary healthcare services. Special focus was given to expanding e-Shram registrations, developing a roadmap for the National Career Service, and exploring initiatives such as PM Education to Employment Lounges.
