Minister Tarunpreet Singh : Labour Department Embraces Digitalization, Makes All Services and Industrial Schemes Available Online

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Labour Department has fully digitized its services and industrial schemes, making them accessible online with just a single click.

Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced that several key services, such as building plan approvals, stability certificate acceptance, factory registration, license issuance and renewal, license amendments, permission for women to work night shifts, principal employer registration, and contractor licensing, are now available online through the department’s official website: https://pblabour.gov.in.

He further highlighted that additional services, including welfare fund payments, claims under the Punjab Labor Welfare Board, registration of construction sites and trade unions, submission of annual labor law returns, claims under the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, and registration of shops and commercial establishments, can also be accessed digitally via the department’s website.

The Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has also streamlined the terms and conditions for various welfare schemes such as the Stipend Scheme, LTC Scheme, and Shagun Scheme.

Minister Tarunpreet Singh informed that the Punjab Government has removed the two-year service requirement for laborers under the stipend scheme for their children. Now, workers can benefit from the stipend scheme immediately upon making contributions. Additionally, the requirement for a registered marriage certificate to avail of the Shagun Scheme has been eliminated. Instead, laborers can now submit photographs of religious places and the religious figures who officiated the marriage to claim benefits.
