Mira Rajput, the spouse of Shahid Kapoor, regrets calling newborns “puppy dogs”: “It’s past time you forgive me for that.”
Mira Rajput said she is thankful to her husband Shahid Kapoor for supporting her at that period, even if she still receives hate mail for those remarks.
When Mira Rajput made a remark that seemed to be derogatory in 2017, comparing babies to pups, it generated a controversy. Actor Shahid Kapoor’s wife and businesswoman, Mira, has now taken a second look at her opinions and expressed guilt for defending her own decisions and choices.
After declaring that her daughter wasn’t a “puppy” and questioning why women would want children if they couldn’t spend quality time with them, Mira faced criticism from all directions.
Mira discussed the opinion in a recent interview with Film Companion, stating that she thought the statement was “unfair.”
What was said by her?
“While I was pushed in that corner for seeming very regressive, I think I probably acted out by saying things,” she stated in response to her comment. Right now, I don’t think I agree with them. From then, I believe I have gone a long way,” she remarked.
“I can understand why it wasn’t taken well,” Mira said, acknowledging that she understood why her remarks weren’t well received. I believe that I was in a sensitive, emotional state. I believe I was merely attempting to convince myself that my decisions were legitimate. I’m sorry about it and am aware of how many people it hurt.
She really views that dispute as a “turning point” in her life, one that scared her and made her realize the dangers of being in the public eye.
She disclosed that she continues to receive hate mail for such remarks. “I think it’s about time I am forgiven for that because life comes full circle and you make mistakes and you learn from them,” she said, expressing her gratitude to her husband Shahid for his support during that difficult period.
Her divisive statement
“You know I can raise my daughter, I can be a good wife, and I can set my house the way I like, not in terms of the way things should be but the way a home must be with its values and ideals,” Mira remarked in 2017 at a Women’s Day event. I wouldn’t have it any other way, but I adore staying at home and being a mother to my child, so nothing will stop me after that.
“I wouldn’t want to see my child for just an hour a day before rushing off to work. Why was she with me? You realize that she is not a puppy. She continued, “I want to be there for her as a mother; the joy of watching her grow up is indescribable.
After she wed Shahid in 2015, Mira, a Delhi student at Lady Shri Ram College, has been in the spotlight nonstop. She and Shahid are parents to a boy and a daughter.
