Harjot Singh Bains inspected Amritsar under Mission Clean Punjab, reviewed door-to-door garbage collection and took feedback from residents on ground.
Amritsar, Punjab: Strengthening the on-ground execution of Mission Clean Punjab, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains began a detailed field inspection in Amritsar from 8 AM, accompanied by the local MLA, Mayor, Municipal Commissioner, and senior civic officials.
The visit focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the door-to-door garbage collection system and understanding real-time challenges faced by residents in different localities.
Direct Interaction with Residents on Civic Issues
During the inspection, Bains personally interacted with residents across multiple wards to gather feedback on sanitation services. Citizens highlighted both improvements and ongoing gaps in waste collection frequency, segregation practices, and street-level cleanliness.
Officials were instructed to record every concern on priority and ensure that issues are addressed without delay rather than being restricted to paperwork.
“Mission Clean Punjab Runs from Streets, Not Offices”
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Harjot Singh Bains emphasized that Mission Clean Punjab is a ground-driven initiative rather than a desk-based exercise. He stated that real transformation in sanitation can only be achieved when authorities regularly step out into the field and assess conditions firsthand.
