CM Mohan Yadav : Health checkup of 13,800 patients conducted on the first day in the camp

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that when Atal ji was the Prime Minister of India, he had started opening AIIMS in other states of the country including Bhopal on the lines of Delhi AIIMS. It is a matter of joy that the team of the same Bhopal AIIMS is in Gwalior today to treat needy patients in the three-day free health camp organized here. This is a true tribute to Atal ji. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was speaking at LNIPE in Gwalior on Wednesday after inaugurating the free health camp being organized in collaboration with AIIMS on the occasion of the centenary birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Considering the large number of patients coming to the health camp, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will take serious initiative to open AIIMS in Gwalior. Besides, efforts will also be made to ensure that the government medical colleges of the state are capable of providing health services like AIIMS. He praised regional MP Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha for preparing the structure to organize a huge free health camp in collaboration with AIIMS on the birth anniversary of Atal ji in Gwalior. He also expressed his gratitude towards the AIIMS management for coming to the camp with a large team of doctors.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has made revolutionary expansion in health services in the last 20 years. Till the year 2003, there were only 5 medical colleges in the state and the number of seats in the first year was only 400. By the year 2024, the number of medical colleges in the state will increase to 50, which includes 17 government medical colleges. Also, the number of seats in MBBS first year has increased from 400 to 5 thousand. He said that the government is working with full commitment to open medical colleges in all 55 districts of the state. The Chief Minister said that along with opening new medical colleges, the government is also equipping district hospitals, the primary and community hospitals with state-of-the-art health facilities. Along with allopathy, Ayurvedic and homeopathic methods are also being promoted by the government. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today by inaugurating the Ken-Betwa River Linking National Project, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has paid a true tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal ji.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that now senior citizens above 70 years of age have also been included in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana by Prime Minister Shri Modi. He told the public representatives and administrative officials present in the programme to connect all senior citizens above 70 with this scheme so that they too can avail free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh.

Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that it is a matter of joy that respected Shri Atal ji was very sensitive towards villages, the poor and the farmers. Local MP Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha has taken a commendable initiative by organizing a health camp to serve humanity on the birth anniversary of our source of inspiration Shri Vajpayee. The decision taken by Atal ji to expand AIIMS across the country is benefitting residents of Gwalior and Chambal and other nearby districts. AIIMS Bhopal team has come to Gwalior to treat those who are unable to get treatment and patients from economically weaker families who go to Delhi and Bhopal and go to AIIMS or other big hospitals. Assembly Speaker Shri Tomar requested Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to take the initiative at the central level on behalf of the State government to open AIIMS in Gwalior, which Chief Minister Dr. Yadav happily accepted and assured that the State government will take this direction seriously.

MP Shri V.D. Sharma said that Atal ji, the son of Gwalior, led the country and brought glory to the city in the whole world. His dreams are being realized under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. MP Shri Sharma appreciated organizing a huge health camp in collaboration with AIIMS in Gwalior.

MP Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for his immense help in organizing a huge free camp in collaboration with AIIMS in Gwalior. Also said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state is developing rapidly. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is working on the resolutions of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with full enthusiasm. This camp could be organized in Gwalior with the cooperation of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He said that patients from all the districts of Gwalior-Chambal division including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring districts of Rajasthan are benefitting from this camp.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inquires about the well being of patients

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also took stock of the arrangements of the health camp. He visited various counters and praised the doctors of AIIMS. He met the patients and enquired about their well-being. He assured Babulal, suffering from liver disease, that he should not worry, AIIMS doctors would provide him with all possible treatment.

Thousands of patients benefited

A large number of patients are coming for health checkups in the three-day camp being organized at LNIPE. On the very first day, about 13 thousand 800 patients suffering from various diseases were examined by the doctors of AIIMS. Also, free medicines were provided to them. Pathological tests for other types of diseases including echo, ECG, ultrasound, and liver tests are also being done in the health complex. So far, about 40 thousand patients have been registered in the camp. This camp will continue on 26th and 27th December also from 10 am to 5 pm.

Among those who were present at the inauguration of the health camp include Morena MP Shri Shivmangal Singh Tomar, Shri Hitanand Sharma, MLA Shri Mohan Singh Rathore, former MP Shri Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Manoj Tomar, District Panchayat President Smt. Durgesh Jatav, Vice President Smt. Priyanka Singh, Fishermen Welfare Board Chairman Shri Sitaram Batham along with public representatives and officials.
