MP CM Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has undergone rapid transformation over the past two decades and is now progressing with a clear vision to emerge as India’s ‘Model State’.
MP CM Yadav emphasised that the government is working with determination to make Madhya Pradesh the country’s new ‘Food basket’. Thanks to the hard work of farmers, the state’s grain reserves are abundant.
The Chief Minister, highlighting healthcare expansion, said, “Madhya Pradesh is opening medical colleges across districts at a fast pace. To encourage investment, the government is offering 25 acres of land for just one rupee on a PPP model, along with the district or divisional hospital for 10 years. Once investors set up their own hospital for the medical college, the government will reclaim its hospital after 10 years.” CM Dr. Yadav noted that this is a dual support system for investors. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing an event organised by a private media group in New Delhi on Friday.
MP CM Yadav pointed out that the National River Linking Project has been launched from Madhya Pradesh. The Rs. 1 lakh crore Ken–Betwa river-link project will provide permanent irrigation and drinking water facilities to all districts of Bundelkhand, while the Rs. 70,000 crore Parvati–Kalisindh–Chambal project will do the same for Malwa and Chambal regions.
CM Dr. Yadav said on tourism that Madhya Pradesh is making great strides in promoting religious and spiritual tourism. Preparations for ‘Simhastha 2028’ are in full swing. He said, “After the creation of Shri Mahakal Mahalok, the very face of Ujjain has changed.” With a population of just 7 lakh, Ujjain now receives over 7 crore pilgrims annually from India and abroad. More than 200 hotels have come up in the city, boosting its economy. Land for a Medical Device Park in Ujjain has already been fully utilised and another 1,000 acres are being reserved as a land bank.
CM Dr. Yadav said on air connectivity that the government has introduced a new aviation policy, under which incentives are being offered to launch regional planes. Air ambulance facilities—free for Ayushman card holders and subsidised for others—have also been introduced, along with helicopter services. He said, “We are committed to making Madhya Pradesh an ideal state.” CM Dr. Yadav informed, highlighting the ‘Raahveer Yojana’, those who help road accident victims receive an incentive of Rs. 25,000.
CM Dr. Yadav said on urban development that metro operations have begun in Indore and construction is progressing in Bhopal. He added, “We will soon extend metro rail to Gwalior and Jabalpur as well.” Metropolitan city areas are being developed in Indore and Bhopal.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said on investment and industry, that the government is providing a variety of incentives, which is why the Global Investors Summit held in Bhopal in February 2025 brought proposals worth Rs. 30.77 lakh crore. New industrial clusters, including an electronics cluster in Ujjain, are under development. The state is also setting up food-processing units to add value to its agricultural output.
CM Dr. Yadav assured that Madhya Pradesh’s financial condition is strong, and the state plans to double its budget in five years. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, special focus is being placed on women’s empowerment. Labor laws have been reformed, and Madhya Pradesh now ranks among the top three states in India in terms of development expenditure speed. He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh provides the cheapest electricity in the country, has the largest irrigated area, and contributes significantly to India’s self-reliance efforts. He remarked, “Delhi Metro also runs on electricity supplied from Madhya Pradesh.” The Chief Minister also emphasised export growth, noting that the state achieved exports worth Rs. 66,000 crore, with a growth rate of 6%. He recalled that during his tenure as Higher Education Minister, Madhya Pradesh was the first state to implement the National Education Policy (NEP). The state has also won awards in tourism and taken steps to make government institutions self-reliant.
CM Dr. Yadav said on industrial reforms that the government has simplified processes by reducing approvals required from 29 to 10 and established a single-window clearance system. New policies have been framed across 18 industrial sectors. In the past year alone, land has been allotted to 285 industries. He also mentioned the groundbreaking of a Metro Coach Manufacturing Plant for BEML in the state. Employment-based industries are being encouraged with the support of Rs. 5,000 per worker for 10 years.
Speaking on social welfare, CM Dr. Yadav noted that the Ladli Behna Scheme is providing women with Rs. 1,500 in financial assistance. If beneficiaries work in employment-oriented industries, they also receive an additional Rs. 5,000 monthly wage incentive. Labor law reforms now allow women to work night shifts, with changes in working hours and holidays.
