Governor inaugurates the 7th International Conference RTIP 2 R- 2024
- Three-day event at MANIT from Thursday
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the advancement of science and technology has changed the nature of cyber crimes. It is very important to make the society aware of the changing patterns of cyber crime like digital arrest, hacking, phishing etc. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the inaugural programme of the 7th International Conference RTIP 2 R- 2024 on the topic “Recent Trends in Image Processing and Pattern Recognition” at MANIT Bhopal. This three-day conference has been organised on the MANIT campus under the joint aegis of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal.
Governor Shri Patel said that we are currently in the digital age. Therefore, awareness about both positive and negative aspects of science and technology is necessary for the society. He asked experts to discuss the progress of science and technical knowledge contained in the Indian knowledge tradition in the interest of society and the nation. He urged them to come forward to contribute to the development of transformative areas of technology through the conference.
Governor Shri Patel said that Madhya Pradesh has a rich cultural heritage. The state has avisionary approach and immense possibilities required for technical and industrial development. The state’s policy and practice are in line with the theme of the international conference. He appreciated the initiative on the possibilities of image processing and artificial intelligence, the main components of the digital revolution, through mutual cooperation.
Governor Shri Patel inaugurated the conference by offering flowers to the Saraswati idol and lighting a lamp. He was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and felicitated by presenting of shawl, shrifal and a memento.
In the programme, subject expert Shri KC Santosh of South Dakota University USA and Dr. Vinayatosh Mishra working in Dubai elaborated on the potential for research in the fields of image processing and pattern recognition. MANIT Institute Director Shri KK Shukla informed about the research, development in the field of Artificial Intelligence through the institute and innovations being carried out in the field of health with AIIMS Bhopal. IIIT Director Prof. Shri Ashutosh Kumar Singh gave detailed information on the organisation of the conference, its objectives and the importance of technology and research in building a developed India. Dr. Deep Chandra Joshi proposed vote of thanks. Subject experts, researchers, students from India and abroad were present in the conference. Along with them, experts and students from remote areas also joined online.
