MP NEWS : Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang emphasized the need to enhance social awareness for women’s empowerment. He encouraged women to recognize their strength, stating that their empowerment not only uplifts families but also strengthens society and the nation. He also highlighted that men and women are interdependent. Speaking at the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue during the GIS, he underscored the importance of improving social indicators for women’s progress.
Shri Sarang noted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisions India as a global powerhouse by 2047, with women playing a pivotal role in this transformation. He stressed that a strong nation can only be built when women are empowered. Encouraging a shift in mindset, he urged women to embrace their strength and called on society, especially the elderly, to discard outdated perceptions of weakness. He pointed out that women have historically been central to societal structures, as reflected in the reverence for Maa Saraswati, Maa Durga, and Maa Lakshmi—symbols of wisdom, power, and prosperity. He also emphasized the need to reflect on the progress and challenges of women’s empowerment over the past 75 years.
The minister highlighted the importance of fostering a supportive work environment for women across government and private sectors. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring women’s participation in all fields. Moving beyond gender biases, he called for research-driven solutions to drive progress, reaffirming that Indian culture has long been centered around women’s contributions.
Experts Advocate for Equal Opportunities and Well-being
Steel Innovation Pvt. Ltd. Director Sushri Nidhi Agarwal supported the principle of equal pay based on skill rather than gender and stressed the importance of addressing the unique challenges faced by rural and urban women separately.
Health expert Dr. Priya Bhav Chitavar highlighted the need to prioritize women’s health, advocating for workplace healthcare facilities to ensure their well-being.
Major Aniket Chaturvedi underscored the importance of women’s safety and self-confidence, sharing insights on the Mitti System, a free initiative aimed at empowering women.
