A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in the presence of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, and Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal.
Key Highlights of the Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP)
The proposed state-of-the-art MMLP in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, will be spread across 150 acres and offer seamless connectivity to major transport corridors.
- Strategic Road Connectivity: Linked to NH7 via a 650-meter access road and situated just 1.5 km from the NH7-NH2 junction.
- Rail and Waterway Integration: Connected to the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor through a 5.1 km railway line from Jeonathpur Station and National Waterway-1 for efficient cargo movement.
- Proximity to Air Transport: Located 30 km from Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport, further enhancing logistics efficiency.
