The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will miss the remainder of the India vs England series. Additionally, fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester.
Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Injury:
Nitish has sustained a left knee injury and will return home for recovery. Although the BCCI didn’t disclose the exact cause, reports suggest he got injured during a gym session on Sunday. Earlier, Reddy had also picked up an injury during the home white-ball series against England and was treated at the National Cricket Academy before returning for the IPL. In the IPL, he bowled sparingly for Sunrisers Hyderabad and featured in the middle order.
Despite a low-key IPL, Reddy made an impact during the England tour, claiming vital wickets in both innings of the Lord’s Test and contributing with the bat, although he couldn’t convert his starts into significant scores.
Arshdeep Singh’s Injury:
Arshdeep Singh is unavailable for the Manchester Test due to a thumb injury on his left hand, sustained while bowling in the nets at Beckenham. The BCCI Medical Team is currently monitoring his condition.
In response to Arshdeep’s absence, pacer Anshul Kamboj has been called up and has joined the Indian squad in Manchester.
