On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan and ‘Bihar Vriksha Suraksha Diwas’, CM Nitish Kumar tied a thread to a tree at Rajdhani Vatika in Patna today.
CM Nitish also planted a sapling in the capital Vatika on the occasion.
It may be recalled that on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan on 13th August 2012,CM Nitish had launched “Bihar Vriksha Suraksha Diwas.” The aim is to make people aware of the environment, conserve plants and plant more trees. Planting and saving trees is essential to reduce the damage caused to the earth by climate change. Tree plantation is being done on a large scale under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali and other schemes. Eco-tourism is also being promoted in the state. With the schemes and efforts of the state government, the people of the state are becoming aware about the environment, conservation of fauna and tree plantation.
