A Government institution to be named after Namdev Maharaj, CM

Chandigarh, August 2–

Haryana CM: On the occasion of Sant Shiromani Namdev Ji’s Jayanti, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini announced to give  Rs. 21 lakh for the Maham Dharamshala in Rohtak and Rs. 31 lakh for Namdev Dharamshalas across various locations in the state. Besides this, a government institution would be named after Namdev Maharaj, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini while addressing members of the Namdev community at a programme held at his residence Sant Kabir Kutir, here today. He praised Sant Shiromani Namdev Ji’s lifelong dedication to eradicating social evils and his commitment to the welfare of humanity.

During the event, members of the Namdev community honored the Chief Minister by presenting him with a turban. In response, the Chief Minister remarked that this honor belongs to the entire Namdev community and pledged never to diminish the respect associated with the turban.

Haryana CM Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the doors of the Chief Minister’s residence are always open to every community and class in the state. He also assured the gathering that more than a dozen demands raised by the Namdev community would be addressed promptly.

The Chief Minister said that the annual income limit for the creamy layer in the reservation for backward classes in Haryana has been increased from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh.  Besides this, directions have been given to prioritize filling the backlog of vacancies in the backward class-A and B categories.

Haryana CM Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the central and state governments have provided more benefits to the OBC community in the past decade than the previous government. The state government has made numerous welfare decisions for all communities, giving the OBC community full respect and recognition, he said.

The Chief Minister shared that, under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, approximately 18 traditional industries and businesses are receiving financial assistance. This initiative supports workers and skilled individuals in traditional industries nationwide, offering low-interest loans to people belonging to all castes within the Vishwakarma community, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Haryana CM said the Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana (HAPPY), under which the state is providing special HAPPY Cards to Antyodaya families. These cards allow card holders to travel up to 1,000 kilometers annually on state transport buses for free. The card is being issued to families with an annual income of up to Rs. 100,000.

Haryana CM expressed pride in Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s commitment to protecting the interests of the OBC community. The central and state governments have worked to honor the OBC community through various schemes, empowering people through initiatives aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas’, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Deputy Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa, OBC Morcha State President, Sh. Karandev Kamboj, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti and other dignitaries remained present during the event.
