Veteran actress Hema Malini has arrived in Delhi to receive the posthumous Padma Vibhushan awarded to late actor Dharmendra, recognizing his exceptional and decades-long contribution to Indian cinema. The honour is part of the Padma Awards 2026 list, one of India’s highest civilian recognitions.
The Padma Awards 2026, announced earlier this year after Dharmendra’s passing in November 2025, is being formally presented by President Droupadi Murmu during the ceremony held in the national capital.
Family Calls It an Emotional and Proud Moment
Speaking from Delhi, Hema Malini described the moment as deeply emotional for the entire family. She shared that her daughter Ahana is with her, while Esha Deol was unable to attend due to prior commitments.
