Patiala’s Preneet Kaur
With Preneet Kaur contesting from the Patiala parliamentary constituency, the BJP has refocused attention on Moti Bagh Palace, a political hotbed under the Capt. Amarinder Singh-led Congress administration.
Preneet, 80, hailed BJP leader JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their confidence in her shortly after she was fielded.
Preneet Kaur made visits to Patiala’s Kali Devi Temple and Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib prior to formally starting her campaign.
Preneet Kaur, who entered politics in 1999, would run for office six times in the Lok Sabha election. From 2014 until 2017, she was an MLA and the UPA-II’s Minister of State for External Affairs.
The seasoned politician must, however, remove the Congress tag, which has been connected to their family for many years.
In the days of Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Patiala was thought to be a SAD stronghold. Over the last thirty years, we have completely rebuilt the Congress. But the party deceived its faithful warriors, according to Preneet.
Preneet chose not to give up and instead chose to mobilize the BJP cadre following his suspension a year prior. Her candidacy is a paradigm shift, as no BJP candidate from Patiala has challenged for the Lok Sabha in thirty-two years.
When discussing the shifting political landscape, Preneet emphasized the ability of PM Modi to make decisions. “I am an insider to the people of Patiala, both urban and rural. I live in their household. Preneet stated, “We have a personal bond with the protesting farmers, and it will not in any way affect the party’s electoral prospects. I will be reaching out to every BJP employee who is not happy.”
