The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) today organized a one-day conference titled “Investment Bazaar for Energy Efficiency” to explore opportunities for investments in energy efficiency projects across Punjab’s industries and MSMEs
PEDA : The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including industrial representatives, financial institutions, banks, designated consumers, MSMEs, and equipment manufacturers, to discuss and promote investments in this vital sector.
Speaking at the conference held at Kisan Bhawan, PEDA CEO Ms. Neelima underlined the importance of adopting energy-efficient technologies and innovations within industries and MSMEs. She highlighted the vast investment potential that can strengthen state infrastructure and pointed out that emerging opportunities in transport, buildings, agriculture, and industry sectors are reshaping the energy efficiency landscape.
She stressed the need to bridge communication and knowledge gaps between project developers and funding agencies to ensure smooth implementation of energy efficiency measures in industries and MSMEs. Emphasizing their role in driving economic growth, Ms. Neelima said that under the leadership of New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Mr. Aman Arora, Punjab is emerging as a national leader in energy transition by prioritizing clean energy solutions. The conference, she added, aimed to make energy efficiency initiatives more market-driven, while successful case studies were also showcased to inspire greater adoption.
From the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, GoI, Director Mr. Shyam Sunder spoke on the importance of energy efficiency and detailed the various schemes available for industries, particularly highlighting the ADEETIE (Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments) Scheme.
The conference was also attended by senior PEDA officials, representatives from industries, MSMEs, and major banks including SIDBI, Union Bank of India, UCO Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, along with equipment manufacturers.
