Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Tiruchy on March 11 as part of his region-wise tour of Tamil Nadu, according to Karuppu Muruganandam, state general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This visit forms a key segment of the party’s strategy ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s arrival, Muruganandam personally inspected three potential venues in Tiruchy. Two of these are located along the Thuvakudi Ring Road, while another is near the Panjappur Bus Stand. “Preparations are being fast-tracked, with priority currently given to arrangements for the Madurai visit,” he added.
This tour is part of a multi-phase plan covering key regions of the state. The first phase includes scheduled visits to Madurai on March 1 and Vellore on March 7, followed by Tiruchy. Muruganandam emphasized that Tiruchy has been finalized by the central leadership as the main venue in this phase, although Thanjavur has been recommended and is expected to host the Prime Minister in future visits.

The BJP’s focus on these regions reflects a larger strategy to engage with voters and reinforce party presence across Tamil Nadu ahead of the elections. With this tour, the BJP aims to consolidate its outreach in key constituencies while highlighting regional development initiatives and governance achievements.
