Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that development works in Madhya Pradesh have gained new momentum during last year. Today, developmental projects worth thousands of crores have been launched in Madhya Pradesh. The foundation stone of the country’s first river-linking project, Ken-Betwa, fulfilling the dream of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has been laid here today. Along with this, the foundation stone of the country’s first floating solar power project, Omkareshwar, has also been laid. For this, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the “Hardwoking Chief Minister” Dr. Mohan Yadav’s government and the people of Madhya Pradesh.
Prime Minister Shri Modi began his address in the Bundelkhandi dialect, saying, “Veeron ki dharti ee Bundelkhand pe rahbe baare sabai janan khon hamai taraf se haath jodke Ram-Ram paunche.”
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that Atal Ji’s contribution to the nation’s development will always be remembered. He was a symbol of good governance. Today, on the occasion of his birth centenary, the construction of 1,153 Atal Gram Seva Sadan has started in Madhya Pradesh, and the first installment has also been released. Good governance is the hallmark of our government. For us, public welfare, citizen benefits, and development are paramount. We are dedicated to the common people. The freedom fighters sacrified blood for the nation, and we dedicates sweat to fulfill their dreams. Along with good schemes, implementing them effectively and ensuring that their benefits reach cent percent of beneficiaries is the true measure of good governance.
The Doors to Prosperity and Happiness for Bundelkhand Region Will Open
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the Ken-Betwa Link Project will open the doors to prosperity and happiness for the Bundelkhand region. The people of Bundelkhand struggled for every drop of water, but the previous governments did not find any permanent solution to the water crisis. Even after seven decades of independence, disputes over river water between states continued, but no concrete efforts were made to resolve them. When Atal Ji’s government was formed, he provided a permanent solution through the river-linking initiative and even started the work, but after 2004, it was discontinued. Today, Atal Ji’s dream of river-linking is about to be realized on the land of Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri Modi also appreciated the vision and efforts of Babasaheb Ambedkar for water power and water resource development.
Gujarat’s Destiny Changed with the Blessings of River Narmada
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the water crisis is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. Only those nations will progress that have adequate water resources and proper water management. Gujarat used to face severe droughts, but with the blessings of River Narmada, Gujarat’s destiny changed. Madhya Pradesh provided water to drought-hit Gujarat. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that he had promised the sisters and farmers of Bundelkhand, and today he has come to fulfill that promise with an irrigation project worth ₹45,000 crore. Today, the foundation stone of the Daudhan Dam has been laid. The canal emerging from this dam will irrigate approximately 11 lakh hectares of land.
This Decade Will Be Remembered as the Era of Water Security and Water Conservation
Prime Minister Modi said that this decade in the country will be remembered as the decade of water security and water conservation. In the last seven decades, only 3 crore families in the country had access to tap water. In the past five years, our government has provided tap water to 12 crore new families. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 2,100 water quality labs have been established across the country to test drinking water quality, and 25 lakh women have been trained. Clean drinking water also prevents diseases.
Incomplete Irrigation Projects Were Completed
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that before 2014, 100 major irrigation projects in the country were left incomplete. Our government completed them by spending thousands of crores of rupees. Using modern techniques, micro-irrigation is now being carried out on 1 crore hectares of land across the country. In Madhya Pradesh alone, over the last 10 years, micro-irrigation has been implemented on 5 lakh hectares of land. On the occasion of the 75th year of independence, 75 Amrit Sarovars are being built in every district of the country. Under the Catch the Rain campaign, over 3 lakh recharge wells have been constructed. In Madhya Pradesh and other states where groundwater levels were low, the Atal Bhujal Yojana has been implemented.
Madhya Pradesh Among the World’s Top 10 Attractive Tourist Destinations
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that our Madhya Pradesh is a leader in tourism. According to a report by an American newspaper, Madhya Pradesh is included among the world’s top 10 attractive tourist destinations. Our government is enhancing facilities for domestic and international tourists. The e-Visa facility has been introduced for foreign tourists. During the G-20 meeting held in Khajuraho, MP Tourism was widely promoted. Heritage and wildlife tourism are being expanded across the country, and Madhya Pradesh holds immense potential in this regard. Under the Swadesh Darshan Yojana, eco-tourism and heritage tourism are being expanded. Gandhi Sagar, Bansagar, Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Sanchi, Khajuraho, Gwalior, Orchha, Chanderi, Mandu, and other places are extremely significant from a tourism perspective. Efforts will also be made to boost tourism in the Panna Tiger Reserve through the link canal of the Ken-Betwa Project.
India: The World’s Third Largest Economic Power
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that India is on its way to becoming the world’s third-largest economic power. Today, the world wants to know more about India. Over the past two decades, Madhya Pradesh has made significant progress in several sectors. In the coming years, Madhya Pradesh will be among the top economies of the country. As a result of the continuous and rapid development work taking place in the state, a Developed Bundelkhand, a Developed Madhya Pradesh, and a Developed India will be realized. Our double-engine government is working with continuous dedication and honesty.
Prime Minister Shri Modi said that good governance means that people should not have to beg for their rights or run around government offices. We have made full use of technology for good governance, which has put an end to fraud. Bank accounts under the Jan Dhan Yojana were opened for the poor and linked with Aadhaar and mobile numbers. Now, funds from schemes like Kisan Samman Nidhi and Ladli Behna are being directly transferred to their accounts. To ensure that the poor receive free rations without any hassle, the One Nation, One Ration Card scheme is in operation. We are addressing the current challenges of good governance while also working on future challenges.
Adequate Drinking Water and Irrigation Facilities in Chambal-Malwa and Bundelkhand Due to Prime Minister Shri Modi’s Initiative: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is the modern-day Bhagirath in the context of Madhya Pradesh. He stated that just as the Ganga River, brought to earth through the efforts of King Bhagirath, gave new life to everyone, similarly, Prime Minister Shri Modi has initiated a new era in India. How conditions can improve over 10-12 years through positive thinking and efforts is best exemplified by Prime Minister Shri Modi’s tenure, and we are all witnesses to it. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Bundelkhand, soil of brave warriors has always been affected by drought. Previous governments did not prioritize the development of Bundelkhand. The inauguration of the Ken-Betwa Link Project and just a few days ago, the historic launch of the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project worth ₹35,000 crore mark significant milestones. These projects will provide drinking water and irrigation facilities to the Chambal, Malwa, and the entire Bundelkhand region, along with water supply for industries. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi had visited the Bundelkhand region three times previously. During these visits, he understood the hardships of the people of Bundelkhand, and today, he has given them gifts equivalent to celebrating Holi and Diwali. On behalf of the people of the state, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi for these generous initiatives.
The Inauguration of the Omkareshwar Solar Project is a Result of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s Innovative Initiative
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Modi, good governance is being ensured in the state. Along with caring for the poor, youth and farmers, Prime Minister Shri Modi has also strengthened democracy. This is why it became possible for a person from a poor farming family to become the Chief Minister. He thanked Prime Minister Shri Modi for presenting an ideal governance model that equally prioritizes the government, society, and administration. Such a vision transforms people’s lives. By approving two major river projects for Madhya Pradesh within eight days, Prime Minister Shri Modi has sent a clear message to the states that our natural resources should be used for mutual prosperity and not for narrow self-interests. As a result of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s innovative initiatives, the country’s first Omkareshwar Solar Project is being inaugurated. This will pave the way for adequate power supply through solar energy. Chief Minister said that with Prime Minister Shri Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh on the completion of one year of the state government, a sense of pride and joy has been instilled among the people of the state.
Daily Gifts for the State During the “JanKalyan Parv”
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Jankalyan Parv, organized to mark one year of the state government, is being concluded. During this Parv, which began on December 11 (Gita Jayanti), the state received gifts every day. Prime Minister Shri Modi’s gift of the ₹35,000 crore Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and the Bhoomi-Poojan of the ₹44,000 crore Ken-Betwa Link Project are immensely significant for the state. On the concluding day of the Public Welfare Festival, projects worth approximately ₹75,000 crore from river-linking initiatives, along with Bhoomi-Poojan and inaugurations of projects worth more than ₹30,000 crore, took place. In total, projects exceeding ₹1.10 lakh crore are taking shape in the state today.
Connecting the Needy with Government Schemes through the Jankalyan Abhiyan
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi believes that our government should be accountable to the people, and the people should receive their rightful benefits. This is why, alongside the JanKalyan Parv, the Chief Minister’s JanKalyan Abhiyan is being run from December 11 to January 26 at the village and ward levels in the state. Through this campaign, surveys of eligible beneficiaries are being conducted, and through camps, benefits of more than 76 government welfare schemes and 53 individual schemes are being provided to the needy. Over 7,000 camps have been held so far, with over 5.5 lakh applications received, and 3 lakh applications have already been resolved. With the objective of directly reaching out to the people for their benefit, government staff are visiting the homes of the needy to ensure they receive the benefits of the schemes.
Proposals of ₹4 Lakh Crore for Industrial Activities Received by the State
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has decided to observe the year 2025 as the Year of Industry. Six Regional Industry Conclaves have been held in the state, where proposals worth ₹2.07 lakh crore were received. Additionally, through roadshows in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Kolkata, investment proposals of over ₹1 lakh crore were received. A mining conclave held in Bhopal also brought in proposals worth ₹20,000 crore. Proposals worth ₹78,000 crore were also received from tours to the UK and Germany. In total, proposals worth ₹4 lakh crore have been received for industrial activities, which will create employment opportunities for the local people of the state.
Filling 2.5 Lakh Posts in the Next 5 Years
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a resident of Gwalior. Prime Minister Shri Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Vajpayee’s 100th birth anniversary is historic. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav shared details of the innovations started by the state government in the last year and mentioned that the Gurukul tradition has been initiated in the state. Over one lakh recruitments for government positions will be made, and more than 2.5 lakh posts will be filled in the next five years. With the implementation of the new education policy, PMSHRI Excellence Colleges are being established in 55 districts. A decision has been made to provide students’ degrees and mark sheets through DigiLocker.
Prime Minister Shri Modi is Fulfilling Atal Ji’s Dream: Union Minister Shri Patil
Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri C.R. Patil, said that the dream of former Prime Minister late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s River Linking campaign is about to be realized by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He understands well that in areas facing water scarcity, the River Linking project can be a crucial step. Recently, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal project was also launched, which will benefit the state of Madhya Pradesh and the neighboring state of Rajasthan. The work of completing several long-pending projects is now being carried out, and in this regard, the Namami Gange program has also been initiated.
