Following his third sworn in as prime minister, PM Narendra Modi approved the release of the 17th installment of PM Kisan Nidhi, demonstrating the government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers. As part of this commitment, the Prime Minister would use Direct Benefit Transfer to distribute the 17th installment, totaling over Rs 20,000 crores, to approximately 9.26 crore farmers who are eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). Bihar PM
The Prime Minister will officially open Nalanda University’s new campus in Rajgir, Bihar.
The East Asia Summit (EAS) countries and India collaborated to create the university. Attendees at the inaugural ceremony will include the heads of mission from seventeen different countries.
There are two academic blocks on the campus, each with forty classrooms that can accommodate up to 1900 people in total. It features two auditoriums, each with 300 seats. There is a student hostel there that can accommodate about 550 people. It also features a number of other amenities, such as the Faculty Club, Sports Complex, International Center, and Amphitheater, which can hold up to 2000 people.
The campus is a green, “Net Zero” campus. With 100 acres of water bodies, a solar plant, a drinking and household water treatment facility, a water recycling plant for reusing wastewater, and many other environmentally friendly amenities, it is self-sufficient.
The University and history are closely related. Founded approximately sixteen hundred years ago, the ancient Nalanda University is regarded as one of the world’s first residential universities. The UN designated the Nalanda remains as a World Heritage Site in 2016.
