AAP leader Praveen Ram demands a public apology from a Mangrol MLA over alleged abusive remarks against farmers and questions alleged double standards.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat frontal wing president and state farmers’ wing president Praveen Ram has demanded a public apology from a ruling-party MLA over alleged abusive remarks directed at farmers during an incident in Mangrol.
Ram raised the issue through a video message and criticised the alleged conduct of the legislator, calling for greater respect for farmers and accountability from elected representatives.
Praveen Ram Raises Questions Over Mangrol Incident
According to Praveen Ram, AAP leader Piyushbhai Parmar had facilitated the construction of a bridge in Mangrol during his tenure in the taluka panchayat with the interests of farmers in mind.
Ram alleged that the MLA later reached the location with government machinery to demolish the bridge and that farmers present at the site were subjected to abusive language.
He further claimed that when the MLA was questioned by the media about the incident, the legislator described the language as a “routine” way of speaking in the area.
Ram criticised the alleged remarks, saying that the use of abusive language by an elected representative against farmers is inappropriate and should not be normalised.
AAP Questions MLA Over Alleged Double Standards
The AAP leader also questioned why, according to him, strong action and confrontation were being directed towards farmers while alleged illegal activities involving liquor and mining were not receiving similar attention.
Ram challenged the MLA to publicly announce when he would visit alleged liquor outlets and illegal stone-mining sites in the area along with the government machinery if such language and action were truly “routine”.
He said that Gujarat should not have what he described as a “double policy” in which farmers face strict treatment while alleged liquor and mineral mafias are ignored.

Demand for Public Apology to Farmers
Praveen Ram demanded that the MLA either take action against alleged illegal activities in the constituency or publicly apologise to Gujarat’s farmers over the alleged remarks.
He argued that farmers should be treated with dignity and that public representatives have a responsibility to maintain respectful conduct while dealing with citizens.
Ram also criticised what he described as an attitude of intimidation and political arrogance, alleging that such behaviour damages public trust in elected representatives.
AAP Warns of Political Consequences
The AAP leader further said that farmers would respond through democratic means if their dignity continued to be disregarded.
Ram claimed that the alleged incident was not merely a local dispute but raised broader questions about the treatment of farmers and accountability in Gujarat politics.
He appealed to citizens to take note of the conduct of public representatives and said that voters would have the opportunity to express their views through elections.
The allegations and political statements made by Praveen Ram come amid a wider political confrontation in Gujarat, with the AAP targeting the ruling side over the alleged treatment of farmers in Mangrol.
