President Droupadi Murmu visited Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya and installed a 150-kg gold-plated Shri Ram Yantra. The ceremony, held during Chaitra Navratri, included prayers, aarti, and rituals, enhancing the temple’s spiritual significance.
In a historic religious ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Thursday and installed a 150-kg gold-plated metal plate known as the Shri Ram Yantra. This special installation coincided with the sacred Chaitra Navratri and the Hindu New Year, making it a significant spiritual event for devotees.
According to the official post on the President of India’s X handle, President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in the sacred Ayodhya Dham. During the ceremony, she installed the Shri Ram Yantra on the second floor of the temple in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mata Amritanandamayi, and other dignitaries. She also performed aarti at the Ramlala Temple, praying for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of all citizens.
The Shri Ram Yantra, weighing 150 kg and gold-plated, is engraved with Vedic and ‘beej’ mantras. Temple trust member Anil Mishra stated that the Yantra was crafted following Vedic mathematics to generate positive spiritual energy and symbolise the divine presence of Lord Ram. The Yantra has been modelled on the Shri Ram Yantra of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham under the guidance of Swami Vijayendra Saraswati.

The ceremonial procession for the Yantra began two years ago from Tirupati Devasthanam, and it has been worshipped daily ever since. Its installation during Chaitra Navratri marks an auspicious beginning for the Hindu New Year, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the temple and the rituals.
Security for the event was extremely tight. Over 7,000 personnel were deployed across Ayodhya, including sensitive zones, to ensure smooth proceedings, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover. Traffic restrictions were also imposed, with authorities urging residents and devotees to cooperate during the president’s visit.
The visit of President Droupadi Murmu to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and the installation of the Shri Ram Yantra is being seen as a historic moment, strengthening the spiritual and cultural significance of Ayodhya and inspiring devotees across the country.
