Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches the ‘Dhan-Dhanya Agricultural Scheme’ and Pulses Self-Reliance Mission to empower farmers. Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini highlights historic steps to boost farmer income and modernize agriculture.
In a significant move to strengthen India’s agricultural sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Dhan-Dhanya Agricultural Scheme’ and the ‘Pulses Self-Reliance Mission’ from the National Agricultural Science Campus in New Delhi on Saturday. Simultaneously, state-level programs were organized across the country, including a major event held at the Indradhanush Auditorium, Sector-5, Panchkula, where Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini graced the occasion as the chief guest.
CM Nayab Singh Saini praised the central government for taking historic and continuous measures to empower farmers across the nation. Speaking at the event, he said, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, numerous initiatives are being implemented to improve farmers’ income and productivity. Today, farmers across the country have received a gift of agricultural projects worth over ₹42,000 crore.”

The scheme aims to provide better prices to farmers for their produce, increase their income, and modernize the agricultural sector. During the program, the inauguration and foundation-laying of over 1,100 projects related to agricultural infrastructure funds, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing were carried out.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, CM Saini emphasized the importance of these initiatives in ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural growth. “Our government is dedicated to empowering farmers with the latest technology and resources to ensure they reap maximum benefits,” he added.
Prominent leaders present at the event included Haryana BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli, Tourism and Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, former Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta, senior BJP leader Banto Kataria, and BJP district president Ajay Mittal, among others.
The ‘Dhan-Dhanya Agricultural Scheme’ is set to be implemented initially in 100 districts across India, including Nuh district in Haryana, marking a new chapter in India’s agricultural development. This ambitious scheme aligns with the government’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by promoting self-reliance in pulses and other key agricultural products.
