Blistering heat sweeps Punjab, Haryana; Fazilka records 47.1°C

Punjab and Haryana: The highest temperature recorded in Gurdaspur was 46.5°C, while the highest recorded temperatures in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Pathankot were 44.4°C, 44.3°C, 45.1°C, and 45.1°C, respectively.
On Saturday, there was no break from the ongoing heatwave conditions in Punjab and Haryana, with a high temperature of 47.1 degrees Celsius recorded in Abohar, Fazilka district.
According to the Met department’s meteorological report, Chandigarh, the combined capital of the two states, also endured oppressive heat, with a maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees Celsius.
Gurdaspur, among other places in Punjab, experienced extreme heat, with a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius. The highest reported temperatures in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Pathankot were 44.4, 44.3, 45.1, and 45.1 degrees Celsius, in that order.

The highest temperature ever recorded in Nuh, in neighboring Haryana, was 46.5 degrees Celsius. In Rohtak and Sirsa, where maximum temperatures were recorded at 45.3 and 45.4 degrees Celsius, the hot weather continued. The highest temperatures ever recorded at Ambala, Hisar, and Karnal were 44.6, 44.7, and 43.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

There was also intense heatwave conditions in Gurugram and Faridabad, with maximum temperatures of 44.1 and 46 degrees Celsius reported.
