In a landmark development for the state’s dairy and agro economy, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has inaugurated the Punjab Cargill Cattle Feed Plant at Wazirabad Industrial Park in Mandi Gobindgarh. Built with an investment of ₹300 crore, the facility is being described as the largest cattle feed plant in South Asia.
The commissioning of the Punjab Cargill Cattle Feed Plant comes ahead of the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026 and signals rising investor confidence in the state’s industrial and agri-processing sectors.
Major Boost to Dairy Productivity and Farmers’ Income
The Punjab Cargill Cattle Feed Plant is expected to significantly enhance milk yield, improve dairy productivity, and strengthen the rural economy. With scientifically developed, high-quality cattle feed produced locally, farmers will gain direct benefits through healthier livestock and better output.
Spread across more than 15 acres, the plant has an annual production capacity of 4.5 lakh metric tonnes. This scale of operation positions the Punjab Cargill Cattle Feed Plant as a key driver of growth in Punjab’s dairy value chain.
