Punjab Govt expands Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Scheme with new routes. Around 1.5 lakh devotees will get free pilgrimage, food and accommodation.
The Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expanded the Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Scheme by introducing new pilgrimage routes to help devotees visit important religious destinations across the country.
Under the initiative, the entire cost of the pilgrimage will be borne by the Mann government. The government will also make arrangements for accommodation and food for the devotees, ensuring that pilgrims can undertake their journey comfortably.
1.5 Lakh People to Benefit in Coming Months
According to the government, around 1.5 lakh devotees are expected to be taken on pilgrimage over the coming months under the scheme. The addition of new routes is aimed at extending the benefits of the programme to more people across Punjab.
The initiative is being presented as an effort to make religious travel more accessible for devotees who may otherwise find it difficult to bear the expenses associated with long-distance pilgrimages.
