Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is leaving no stone unturned in supporting flood-affected families.
Punjab Government ,Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and the entire administrative setup are working directly on the ground, alongside citizens, while social organizations and volunteers are also playing an active role in relief efforts.
Cabinet Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains visited several flood-hit villages in Sri Anandpur Sahib, inspected relief operations in village Dadda, and distributed fodder for livestock. He directed officials to expedite girdawari for crop loss assessment, repair damaged houses and roads, and ensure uninterrupted power and water supply. He reaffirmed that under the CM’s guidance, the government is fully committed to rehabilitating affected families and restoring normalcy quickly.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, during his review of health services in Ludhiana’s flood-hit areas, emphasized preventive measures against waterborne and vector-borne diseases. He announced that once floodwaters recede, health teams will conduct door-to-door surveys. Ongoing efforts include chlorination of water, fumigation, and installation of RO systems in schools to ensure safe drinking water.
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond dispatched another relief truck from Mandi Gobindgarh, carrying solar lights and tarpaulins, acknowledging support from HF Super Milk Plant owner Vinod Kumar Dutt. This followed his earlier dispatch of three relief trucks from Khanna to Fazilka.
Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goel personally monitored rescue and relief operations throughout the day in Ghaggar-affected Lehra Gaga, stating that water levels are likely to fall by 4–5 inches by September 10. Departmental teams are maintaining 24-hour surveillance along the 18-km stretch of the river.
Meanwhile, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa flagged off two relief trucks from Lalru Anaj Mandi, delivering fodder and cattle feed to flood-hit families in Shahpur Jajan, Dera Baba Nanak. He urged collective efforts from citizens, institutions, and the government to help families rebuild their lives.
MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy contributed a boat worth ₹5.63 lakh to village Atoo Wala, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring ration, cattle feed, and ₹20,000 per acre compensation for affected farmers.
In Fazilka, Senior IAS Officer Kanwalpreet Brar and Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu visited relief camps in Mozam, Rana, and Salem Shah, distributing food for children and hygiene kits for women. Medical and veterinary teams are stationed in the area, with fodder for animals arranged. Temporary classrooms and a mobile library have also been set up for children. Currently, 2,761 people are accommodated in 14 relief camps, each overseen by senior officials.
