Chandigarh: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab is witnessing a significant wave of economic reforms. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora held an important press conference in Chandigarh today, unveiling major initiatives to strengthen the industrial landscape of the state. According to the minister, the favorable investment climate in Punjab is attracting large corporations, boosting both employment and the overall economy.
₹1,100 Crore Project in Mandi Gobindgarh
Addressing the press, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that the renowned Jogindra Group will invest ₹1,100 crore in Mandi Gobindgarh. The investment is divided into two major segments:
Steel Plant Expansion: ₹700 crore will be allocated to expand the existing steel plant.
Renewable Energy Sector: ₹400 crore will be invested in renewable energy initiatives.

This move is expected to increase Punjab’s steel production capacity by 3 lakh tonnes annually. According to Minister Arora, this project will not only enhance industrial output but also create hundreds of new local employment opportunities.
Record-Breaking Investment and Employment
Highlighting Punjab’s economic progress, Sanjeev Arora stated that the current financial year has been historic for the state. A total investment of ₹60,276 crore was realized, creating employment opportunities for 1,35,372 individuals.
Minister Arora emphasized that the government is ensuring that investments on paper translate into tangible results. For the next financial year, a target of ₹75,000 crore has been set to further accelerate Punjab’s growth.
Punjab to Become an Industrial Hub
Speaking to the media, Sanjeev Arora said, “Our top priority is to transform Punjab into the country’s leading industrial hub. We are providing industries with single-window clearance and improved infrastructure.” He expressed confidence that the ongoing Punjab Investment Revolution will redefine the state’s economic landscape in the coming years.
