Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s commitment to transparency and quality in development initiatives, Punjab Mandi Board Secretary, Mr. Ramvir, carried out an inspection of ongoing projects in Sangrur district today.
He was joined by Mr. Dalvir Singh Dhillon, Chairman of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation; Mr. Rajwant Singh Ghulli, Chairman of Market Committee, Dhuri; Mr. Gurinder Singh Cheema, Chief Engineer, Punjab Mandi Board; along with other officials.
During the visit, Mr. Ramvir reviewed the construction of the Sub-Divisional Hospital and Mother-Child Hospital in Dhuri, development of link roads, and the new grain market at village Satauj.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been advocating the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to guide the need-based construction of rural roads, ensuring optimal use of public money. Smart surveys conducted with AI have already helped the state save ₹383 crore, which will now be redirected toward welfare and development works.
Mr. Ramvir directed officials to strictly maintain quality in all projects and highlighted the importance of upgrading rural roads that have not been repaired for over six years. He noted that, for the first time, a state-wide AI-based survey with videography was carried out on 3,369 roads, identifying 843 in good condition—preventing wasteful expenditure and curbing corruption.
He also instructed that berms be constructed along roads for safety and accessibility, adding that such inspections will continue across Punjab to enforce transparency and accountability.
Chairman Dalvir Singh Dhillon emphasized that contractors are now obligated to uphold quality standards and maintain completed projects for five years. He said the use of AI in planning rural infrastructure will ensure cost efficiency, durability, and improved connectivity across the state.
Mr. Rajwant Singh Ghulli urged citizens to actively share honest feedback on construction quality, stressing that every rupee spent is public money and must serve the people’s interest.
