PUNJAB NEWS : Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Jasvir Singh Garhi, will embark on a state-wide tour to spread awareness among Scheduled Castes about their constitutional rights.
According to a press statement released today, the Commission’s spokesperson informed that Mr. Garhi’s visits will coincide with the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
As part of the tour, Mr. Garhi will attend a series of programs: on April 6, 2025, he will join an event organized by the BR Ambedkar Study Circle Center in Village Salempur near Sidhwan Bet, Ludhiana; on April 13, he will participate in a program organized by the Bahujan Employees and Retired Employees Association at Ajmer Palace, Malout Road, Muktsar Sahib; on April 14, he will be in Nawanshahr; on April 19, the SC/BC Employees Federation of PSPCL/PSTCL will host an event at Thermal Plant Nuho Colony, Ropar; and on April 20, he will attend a gathering hosted by the BR Ambedkar Welfare and Charitable Forum and its affiliated groups at Parul Palace, Sangrur.
Additionally, the awareness campaign will include a special evening event at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib on April 13, 2025.
These events aim not only to highlight the life and legacy of Dr. Ambedkar but also to inform attendees about the role and functioning of the SC Commission, and to educate them on their rights, entitlements, and the social welfare provisions available to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes under the Constitution and Indian laws.
