Punjab News : Punjabi folk singers Alap Sikandar and Sarang Sikandar captivated the audience with their performance.

Punjab News : The two-day state-level Basant festival at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, concluded today, leaving lasting memories. A large crowd of locals thoroughly enjoyed the event.

During the festival, MLA Ferozepur Rural Advocate Rajnish Dahiya, MLA Ferozepur Urban S. Ranbir Singh Bhullar, and Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma presented prize money to the winners of the kite flying competition. Both MLAs congratulated the district administration and residents on the festival’s success, stating that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to promoting culture and tourism in Ferozepur. They highlighted that the state-level Basant Panchami event is being celebrated in Ferozepur to further this goal. Praising the district’s residents and administrative officials for this achievement, they noted that Ferozepur is now advancing in all areas.

Both MLAs also recognized district officials, employees, and representatives of voluntary organizations for their successful efforts in organizing the state-level Basant festival.

While congratulating the winners of the kite-flying competition and the district residents for the success of the state-level Basant Festival, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Mrs. Deepshikha Sharma, highlighted that Ferozepur’s Basant is internationally renowned. She praised the Punjab government for taking this unique initiative in Ferozepur to spark the youth’s interest in kite-flying.

Commending the efforts of the state government and district administration, she mentioned that Ferozepur and Punjab would gain global recognition, as not only local youth but also participants from across India and abroad showcased their kite-flying skills at the state-level Basant Festival.

She also announced the winners: Bharat Bhushan in the largest kite-flyer category, Aditya in the under-10 boys’ category, Kirti in the under-10 girls’ category, and Jagjit and Prerna in the above-10 boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively. She mentioned that all the winners received cash prizes.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister S. Tarunpreet Singh Sond, the district administration is committed to elevating the festival to national and international recognition.

Popular Punjabi singers Alap Sikander and Sarang Sikander, who were special guests at the festival, entertained the crowd with their hit songs. Other Punjabi folk singers also performed, while students from various schools showcased Bhangra and folk dances, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Additionally, emerging artists from Ferozepur captivated the audience with their performances. A blood donation camp was organized at the event, with many people eagerly participating and donating blood.

The event was attended by senior district officials, representatives from various departments, NGOs, and a large number of local residents.
