Punjab News: An altercation between prisoners in a jail in Sangrur, Punjab, resulted in two deaths and two injuries.
An altercation between prisoners broke out in a jail in Sangrur, Punjab, on Friday, leaving two dead and several injured, according to the officials.
The police stated that the situation is being looked into and that they are attempting to determine what caused the altercation that resulted in the injuries of four convicts, two of whom died as a result of their wounds.
Punjab News: Two of the four patients—inmates—who were taken to the hospital from the district jail were brought in dead. A physician at the government hospital in Sangrur informed reporters that two patients who were critically hurt had been referred to Patiala.
According to the doctor, Mohd Sehwaz and Gagandeep Singh are hurt, while Harsh and Dharmender were brought dead.
Punjab News: According to Deputy Inspector General (Jail) Surinder Singh Saini, Jailbandi began at around 7 p.m. when roughly ten individuals from ward number 6 went to ward number 7 and attacked some prisoners with sharp weapons. He also stated that the jail alarm went off as a result of the incident.
The fight erupted due to some past rivalry, he added.
