Punjab Police : In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in collaboration with Moga Police, has arrested an associate of foreign-based gangsters Gaurav alias Lucky Patyal and Davinderpal Singh alias Gopi Lahoria of the Davinder Bambiha Gang. The arrest followed a brief exchange of fire in Moga city, as per Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav’s statement on Wednesday.
The arrested individual has been identified as Malkit Singh alias Manu, a resident of Dosanjh Talwandi in Moga. Police teams have recovered a .32 caliber pistol along with four cartridges from his possession.
According to DGP Yadav, Manu, an active member of the Davinder Bambiha Gang, has a criminal history with at least seven cases registered against him, including charges of murder, attempted murder, violations under the NDPS Act, and the Arms Act.
Investigations revealed that, acting on instructions from jailed gangster Dharminder Baji, Manu and his accomplice Manpreet Singh alias Mani carried out an attack on a rival in Kapura village, Moga, on February 19, 2025, resulting in one death and a woman sustaining a bullet injury. He was also involved in a firing incident at Raja Dhaba in Jagraon on February 26, 2025, orchestrated by foreign-based gangster Lucky Patyal.
Police Operation and Arrest
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) AGTF Promod Ban detailed that based on human and technical intelligence, special teams tracked Malkit Manu to a rented accommodation near Dosanjh Road in Moga. The operation was conducted under the supervision of AIG Gurmeet Chauhan and DSP Bikramjit Brar, led by Inspector Pushvinder Singh.
When police raided the hideout, Manu opened fire in an attempt to escape, prompting the police to retaliate. During the exchange, he sustained bullet injuries and was immediately taken to a local hospital before being referred to Baba Farid Medical College in Faridkot for further treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Manu was assigned to execute a major crime in the Tricity area by his foreign-based handlers, Lucky Patyal and Gopi Lahoria, said AIG Gurmeet Chauhan.
Legal Action
SSP Moga Ajay Gandhi confirmed that a fresh FIR No. 52 dated 12/03/2025 has been registered at Police Station City Moga under sections 109, 132, 221, and 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 25(6) and 25(7) of the Arms Act. Further investigations are underway.
