Punjab Police Cracks Down on Criminals, Arrests Four Associates of Harpreet Happo Gang
In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing mission to ensure a safe and secure Punjab, as directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Police, has arrested four associates of the Harpreet Happo Gang involved in the murder of a gym trainer. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav shared this development on Thursday.
Arrests and Seized Items
The victim, identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Guri, was shot dead by four attackers in Kharar on January 31, 2025. The arrested suspects include:

Onkar Singh alias Golu (village Pandwa, Kapurthala)

Prince (village Pandwa, Kapurthala)

Gurpreet Singh alias Guri (Satnampura, Phagwara)
Police also recovered two .32 bore pistols with magazines and 20 cartridges. Additionally, the suspects’ grey Maruti Ertiga (PB-01-D-2996) was seized.
Foreign Links and Criminal History
DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that preliminary investigations indicate the accused were operating under instructions from foreign-based handlers and were assigned to carry out a targeted killing in Punjab. He further revealed that all the arrested individuals have a criminal record, with cases of murder, attempted murder, and violations under the Arms Act registered against them. Investigations are ongoing to trace their network and connections.
Joint Operation Details
ADGP AGTF Promod Ban detailed that, based on credible intelligence, a joint team led by AIG Sandeep Goel and DSP Rajan Parminder, in coordination with Himachal Pradesh Police, successfully apprehended the accused from Mcleodganj, Kangra (HP). The AGTF operation was executed by Inspector Vikram and Sub-Inspector Chandar.
Additionally, police have identified another suspect involved in the murder, and efforts are underway to arrest him.
