In a bid to revamp the state’s education system by providing world-class infrastructure in government schools, Punjab Transport and Jail Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar today inaugurated infrastructure projects worth ₹1.10 crore across six schools in the Patti constituency under the “Punjab Sikhya Kranti” initiative.
He dedicated various development works to students at Government Elementary Schools in Thatha, Chaudhriwala, Dargapur, and Kheda, as well as at Government High Schools in Dadehar Sahib and Thathian Mahantan.
The Cabinet Minister stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government has launched the “Sikhya Kranti” mission to upgrade government schools and enhance the overall quality of education. The goal is to empower students from government schools to thrive in today’s competitive global landscape.
S. Bhullar highlighted that government schools are now being equipped with advanced amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, safe drinking water, gender-segregated toilets, boundary walls, smart classrooms, integrated science labs, interactive panels, playgrounds, and modern furniture. This significant investment aims to foster a supportive and modern learning environment.
He emphasized that this campaign is helping to uplift educational standards, with many government schools now outperforming private institutions in terms of quality. The state government is committed to delivering not only excellent education but also a nurturing atmosphere for students.
The event was attended by Chairman Dilbag Singh, DEO (Elementary Education) Jagwinder Singh Lehri, senior leader Jaswinder Singh, School Management Committee chairpersons, parents, teachers, and students.
