Raja Warring will challenge Ludhiana-based BJP candidate
Four additional candidates for the Punjab Lok Sabha election were named by the Congress on Monday.

The party has previously declared eight candidates. Raja Warring, the state president of the Congress from Ludhiana, is the party’s nominee against BJP candidate Ravneet Bittu, who recently defected from the Congress to join the BJP.
Zira MLA Kulbir Zira from Khadoor Sahib, Dera Baba Nanak MLA Sukhjinder Randhawa from Gurdaspur, and former cabinet minister Vijay Inder Singla, a former MP from Sangrur, from Anandpur Sahib, have all been named.
The party has announced candidates for 12 of Punjab’s 13 Lok Sabha seats with Monday’s list. The candidate for the Ferozepur constituency has not yet been announced. At the party’s Central Election Committee meeting on Saturday, the most recent names were decided.
Raja Warring, a Jat Sikh, ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Lok Sabha constituency of Bathinda in 2019. In the previous Congress government, he served as the minister of transportation. Prior to this, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, a former minister, was also being considered for the Ludhiana seat. Bittu of the BJP has served as the parliamentary representative for Ludhiana thrice. He recently joined the BJP after quitting the Congress.

As the deputy chief minister in the previous government headed by Charanjit Singh Channi, Randhawa is the Congress candidate running for the Lok Sabha seat from Gurdaspur. In addition to being the Congress leader for Rajasthan, he holds the position of MLA from Dera Baba Nanak. Randhawa, a four-time MLA, will face Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi of the AAP, Dinesh Babbu of the BJP, and Daljit Singh Cheema of the SAD.
The current BJP representative for Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat is Sunny Deol.
Singla was chosen by the Congress for the Anandpur Sahib seat. Prem Singh Chandumajra of SAD and Malvinder Singh Kang of AAP will compete against Singla. The BJP has not yet announced who will run for this seat.
In the Punjab elections of 2022, former MP Singla ran an unsuccessful campaign from the Sangrur assembly constituency. In 2017, he was chosen from Sangrur to serve in the assembly. In the prior Congress administration, he was the PWD minister.
The AAP’s Laljit Singh Bhullar, the BJP’s Manjit Singh Manna Mianwind, the SAD’s Virsa Singh Valtoha, and the Independent candidate Amritpal Singh will square off against Zira, the Congress candidate from Khadoor Sahib.
On June 1, Punjab will hold its final round of voting in the seven-phase Lok Sabha election. Using suggestions from organizations.
