RAJASTHA NEWS : Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar on Saturday held a meeting with the officials of Ajmer Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited to review the power supply. He directed that the priority of the State Government is to ensure smooth, continuous and quality power supply to the consumers. For this, technical and human resources should be put into action with full vigour. Water Resources Minister Suresh Rawat was also present in the meeting.
Energy Minister Nagar said that the situation of the power system is being inspected by visiting every district of the state and talking to the local public representatives, understanding the problems and working towards a solution. He said that a target has been set to generate 125 GW of renewable energy in the state. Also, by 2027, electricity will be provided to farmers in two blocks in the entire Rajasthan. For this, new grid substations are being set up and transformation capacity is also being continuously increased.
The Power Minister said that in the current summer season, adequate power availability has been ensured and farmers have received ample power supply. Power generation has been increased and electricity has been taken by giving priority to purchasing instead of power banking. He said that clear and satisfactory information must be given to the consumers in case of a fault in the power supply. Regular monitoring of the functioning of the control room and field response team should be done. This will resolve the issue soon.
In the meeting, he directed to ensure maintenance of pre-monsoon damaged lines, repair of open and loose wires and quick action in areas prone to electrocution. Mr. Nagar directed that surprise inspections should be conducted by the electrical vigilance team and subordinate staff and strict action should be taken against the negligent staff as per rules. He directed to take shutdown as per rules before carrying out maintenance work.
Shri Nagar directed that the ongoing works under RDSS scheme and Smart Meter scheme should be completed with full quality in the stipulated time frame. He asked the public representatives to organise camps to propagate the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and make the general public aware of the benefits of this scheme.
He directed the officials to ensure that the suggestions and problems given by the people’s representatives in the meeting are resolved in a time-bound manner and the compliance report of all the scheduled works should be sent to the department. He directed to conduct field visits, guide subordinate staff and conduct regular public hearings and involve local public representatives in it.
In the meeting, the Minister for Water Resources, Shri Suresh Rawat said that the Energy Department has contributed to the increase in agricultural productivity by providing abundant power to the farmers. He put forward the problems of the farmers related to electricity and sought their solution, on which the Energy Minister directed the officials to submit an appropriate report.
In the meeting, the Managing Director of AVVNL, Shri K. P. Verma briefed about the ongoing works in the district. Other grid sub-stations, including one of 400 KV and three new ones of 220 KV, are being set up in the district this financial year. Also, there has been a reduction in T & D losses by 2% in FY 2024-25. Most complaints have been resolved in an average of two hours. The progress of approval of agriculture connection applications, implementation of budget announcements, KUSUM scheme, transformer capacity augmentation was also apprised.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, Director Rural Sanitation, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Development, Angrez Singh, PO IWMP, Sushil Kesar, District Panchayat Officer, Rachna Sharma, besides BDOs, JEEs, Panchayat Inspectors, Gramme Sewaks, GRS were present on the occasion.
