Marking the completion of two years of his government, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday asserted that the BJP-led administration has delivered faster and more impactful governance compared to the previous Congress regime’s five-year tenure.
Addressing a press conference, Sharma said the past two years reflect a phase of “good governance, development and public trust,” claiming that his government has laid a strong foundation for transforming Rajasthan’s administrative direction and socio-economic condition.
Majority of Poll Promises on Track
The Chief Minister stated that the BJP’s election manifesto included 392 commitments, of which 274 have already been completed or are currently being implemented. He added that nearly 70 percent of the five-year promises have been achieved within just two years. Similarly, around 73 percent of budget announcements made during this period are either fulfilled or progressing steadily.
Rajasthan Tops National Rankings
According to Sharma, Rajasthan now ranks first nationally in the implementation of 11 flagship schemes, second in five schemes and third in nine others. Highlighting infrastructure growth, he said the state’s power generation capacity has increased by 6,363 MW in two years—significantly higher than the 3,952 MW added during the Congress government’s five-year term.
In irrigation, the BJP government has extended canal-based facilities to around 85,000 hectares, compared to 52,000 hectares earlier. The number of farm ponds built in two years has crossed 35,000, exceeding the previous government’s five-year figure.
Road Connectivity, Agriculture and Rural Growth
Sharma said 1,640 villages have been connected by roads in the last two years, surpassing the 1,100 villages linked during the earlier regime. New road construction has also picked up pace, with over 15,600 kilometres built so far.
For farmers, the government enhanced benefits under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi by adding ₹3,000 annually from the state, raising total assistance to ₹9,000 per farmer. Over ₹10,400 crore has been directly transferred to the accounts of more than 76 lakh farmers. Additional incentives include wheat procurement bonuses, interest-free crop loans worth ₹44,000 crore, and electricity subsidies exceeding ₹44,500 crore.

Women Empowerment and Youth Employment
The Chief Minister highlighted progress in women-centric schemes, including increased maternity assistance and nutrition support. He noted that over 12 lakh women have emerged as “Lakhpati Didis” after skill training initiatives.
On employment, Sharma said the government acted firmly against paper leak scandals by forming a special investigation team. He added that transparent recruitment processes have resulted in 296 examinations being conducted without irregularities, over 90,000 appointments made, and recruitment underway for more than 1.5 lakh posts.
Decline in Crime and Expansion of Health Coverage
Sharma claimed a notable decline in crime rates, including reductions in heinous crimes, cybercrime, and offences against women, SCs and STs. He said nearly 24,000 fewer cases were registered this year compared to the previous year.
In healthcare, the state expanded the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana by adding 132 new treatment packages, providing cashless medical care worth ₹6,860 crore to over 35 lakh beneficiaries.
Water Projects and Welfare Initiatives
Accusing the previous government of delaying major water projects, Sharma said work orders worth ₹26,000 crore have been issued for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), which will benefit 17 districts through irrigation and drinking water supply.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, tap water connections have been provided to more than 13.5 lakh rural households in the last two years, backed by an expenditure of over ₹10,400 crore.
Concluding his address, Sharma said the BJP government remains committed to accelerating development and ensuring inclusive growth across Rajasthan.
