Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the youth of Rajasthan are extremely talented and the sports talents here have the potential to perform better at the national and international level. World class facilities are being developed in the sports sector by the state government so that the players make the state proud. It is the priority of the state government to make the state a leader in sports.
Shri Sharma was addressing the review meeting of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday. He instructed the officials that measures should be taken for the all-round development of youth and promotion of sports. Timely and effective implementation of all budgetary announcements should be ensured so that the benefits of these announcements and schemes reach the youth and sportspersons of our state as soon as possible.
Will bring youth and sports policy soon –
The Chief Minister said that the state government will soon bring a youth policy for the all-round development of the youth, to encourage them and for quick resolution of their problems. He said that sports also play an important role in personality development of youth. Appropriate environment is being created for promotion of sports at every level in the state. Sports Policy-2024 is also being prepared incorporating science, analysis, counseling and nutrition along with sports infrastructure. The Chief Minister directed the officials to finalize both these policies and complete the necessary action soon.
‘Khelo Rajasthan’ will provide platform to local level talents –
Shri Sharma said that ‘Khelo Rajasthan’ Youth Games will be organized on the lines of ‘Khelo India’ Youth Games. Through this, local level talents will be honed.With a view to prepare rural youth for sports competitions, 163 gram panchayats with a population of 10 thousand have been selected in the first phase. Open gym and sports grounds will be built here. The Chief Minister directed that along with their construction, proper maintenance should also be ensuredHe instructed the officials to establish coordination with other states and study the various schemes, policies, innovations being run there in the field of sports so that Rajasthan can get maximum benefits from them.
From Mission Olympics 2028, players will get world class facilities for preparation –
The Chief Minister said that Mission Olympics – 2028 has been started to take the state to the pinnacle of progress in the field of sports. Through this, world class facilities for the Olympic Games will be provided to the 50 most talented players of the state.For this, a Center of Excellence for Sports will be constructed in Jaipur at a cost of Rs 100 crore. He instructed the officials that it should be completed soon. The Chief Minister discussed various subjects including the functioning of Rajasthan State Sports Council and Rajasthan Youth Board, setting up Yuva Sathi Center at every division, setting up Maharana Pratap Sports University, Target Olympic Podium (TOP), State Youth Festival, out-of-turn appointment of medal winners. Also reviewed.
In the meeting, Government Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Dr. Neeraj K Pawan gave detailed information about the progress of the budgetary announcements of the departmentDuring this, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Shri Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Shri Alok Gupta and senior officials were present.
