Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday urged the Rajasthani diaspora to actively participate in shaping a modern and prosperous Rajasthan, emphasizing the state’s pivotal role in achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’. Sharma made these remarks during the inaugural ceremony of the first-ever ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Divas’, which saw the participation of delegates from across the country and around the world.
Rajasthan’s Cultural Heritage and Global Identity
In his address, CM Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted that the event was not just a celebration, but a powerful meeting point for Rajasthan’s rich culture, heritage, and its growing global identity. He acknowledged the significant contribution of non-resident Rajasthanis (NRIs) who, despite living abroad, continue to maintain a deep emotional connection to the state and have raised its profile on the international stage.
Strengthening Diaspora Engagement
To further strengthen ties with the diaspora, CM Bhajanlal Sharma announced the creation of 14 new Rajasthan Foundation centers. These will serve as platforms for collaboration between Rajasthan and its global community. Additionally, Sharma confirmed that the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit would be hosted again next year, underscoring the state’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and investments.
Pravasi Rajasthani Policy and Investment Roadmap
A new Pravasi Rajasthani Policy was launched at the event, designed to recognize, support, and provide an investment framework for Rajasthanis living abroad. CM Sharma emphasized that Rajasthan holds a key position in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, underlining the state’s growing role in national development.
Promising Growth and Industrial Development
The Chief Minister also touched upon the success of last year’s Rising Rajasthan Summit, where MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore were signed. He revealed that projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore have already entered the ground-breaking phase, with Rs 8 lakh crore worth of agreements progressing toward implementation.
State Achievements and Development Milestones
Sharma highlighted the significant strides made by the state in the past two years, including improvements in infrastructure, youth welfare, agricultural development, and women-centric initiatives. He reported that over 90,000 government jobs had been provided, with 20,000 more jobs to be announced soon, alongside 1.53 lakh ongoing recruitment drives.

Encouraging Diaspora Investments
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde called on the diaspora to “repay the debt to their motherland” by investing more in the state. Similarly, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal praised Rajasthan for successfully balancing tradition with modernity, highlighting the state’s youth as its greatest strength and commended the leadership for its decisiveness and credibility.
Industry Leaders Support Rajasthan’s Growth
Industry leaders like Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal and Tata Power CEO Praveer Sinha also addressed the gathering, endorsing Rajasthan’s growth trajectory. Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and Rajasthan Industries Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore echoed similar sentiments, with the latter emphasizing the state’s commitment to the “Reform, Perform, and Transform” mantra under Prime Minister Modi.
Recognizing Diaspora Achievers
The event concluded with the ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Samman’, an award ceremony honoring prominent diaspora achievers such as Anil Agarwal, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Vineet Mittal, Ajay Piramal, and several others for their significant contributions to Rajasthan’s development.
