Rajasthan CM Bhajnlal Sharma highlights water conservation, 16,000 tube wells, and renewable energy projects at Pravasi Rajasthani Day 2025 in Jaipur.
Rajasthan CM Bhajnlal Sharma emphasized the state government’s ongoing efforts to address water-related challenges and promote sustainable energy development during the inaugural Pravasi Rajasthani Day celebrations held at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC).
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has initiated several key projects to improve water availability. CM Sharma highlighted the “Bhumi Se Matrabhoomi” campaign, launched recently, which aims to strengthen groundwater recharge and water conservation across Rajasthan.
Major Water Initiatives
The CM Bhajnlal Sharma extended his gratitude to Union Minister for Jal Shakti, CR Patil, for the installation of tube wells across the state’s villages. Over 16,000 tube wells have already been installed, with plans to set up four to five recharge tube wells in every village, significantly boosting groundwater reserves.
“Our work in water conservation and energy development is progressing steadily,” said CM Sharma, underlining the government’s commitment to resolving water scarcity and enhancing sustainable development.

Focus on Energy Sector
CM Sharma also highlighted Rajasthan’s leadership in the renewable energy sector. The state currently ranks first in India for solar energy, with an installed capacity of 34,555 MW. Recently, land has been allotted for renewable energy projects with a capacity of 17 GW, reflecting Rajasthan’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable growth.
Pravasi Rajasthani Day 2025
The Pravasi Rajasthani Day, organized to strengthen ties between Rajasthanis living abroad (Karmabhoomi) and their homeland (Janmabhoomi), was graced by dignitaries including Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Bhupender Yadav, and Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria.
CM Sharma emphasized the role of Pravasi Rajasthanis in promoting Rajasthan’s culture and contributing to economic development in various states, including West Bengal. The Rajasthan Foundation (RF) currently operates 26 chapters worldwide to foster cultural connections and support for Pravasi communities.
Economic and Industrial Growth
CM Sharma also highlighted Rajasthan’s emergence as a major textile hub, with over 1,500 factories producing polyester, viscose yarn, cotton, and wool. The state ranks fourth in cotton production, contributing significantly to India’s textile industry.
The Chief Minister called on Pravasi Rajasthanis to actively participate in initiatives that strengthen the cultural and economic ties between Rajasthan and its diaspora, while supporting the state’s vision of sustainable development.
