Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri inspected the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) at Pachpadra in Balotra district.
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal closely reviewed the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) and Delayed Coking Unit (DCU) inside the refinery premises and interacted warmly with the employees to learn about their work experiences. Both leaders also inaugurated the Refinery Main Control Room (RMCR).
Subsequently, Rajasthan CM and the Union Minister launched the Operator Training Simulator at the RMCR complex. Chief Minister Sharma initiated the pumping system through the control panels of the CDU, VDU, and DCU units and familiarized himself with the process.
Skill training to generate local employment
The Chief Minister and the Union Minister also chaired a project review meeting at the RMCR. During the session, HPCL officials gave a detailed presentation on the refinery’s current status, operations, product output, evacuation plan, and the utility and productivity of its major units. The Union Minister instructed refinery officials to draw up a skill development action plan within 15 days, emphasizing that both the Central and State Governments are committed to providing employment to local youth through training and skilling initiatives. He also discussed upcoming key units of the refinery.
State government’s full support for smooth operations
In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed HPCL officials to explore new opportunities for solar energy generation and battery storage in the state and to ensure the early opening of the hospital being developed by the refinery at Sanbhara. He also instructed the preparation of a marketing plan for refinery products and called for large-scale plantation drives across the refinery premises. CM Sharma assured that the state government would extend full support to ensure the early commissioning and smooth functioning of all key refinery units. A tree plantation drive was also carried out earlier in the day.
Significant progress through joint efforts of Centre and State
Expressing satisfaction with the refinery’s progress, Chief Minister Sharma said that joint efforts by the Centre and the State over the past six months have brought remarkable momentum to the project, and operations will commence soon. He noted that the refinery will not only provide jobs to local youth but also play a vital role in strengthening the state’s economy. He reiterated the government’s commitment to comprehensive development while maintaining environmental sustainability.
The event was attended by Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Joraram Kumawat, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce K.K. Vishnoi, MP Rajendra Gehlot, MLA Hamir Singh Bhayal, Dr. Priyanka Choudhary, Adooram Meghwal, Arun Choudhary, former Union Minister Kailash Choudhary, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, along with senior officials and representatives of HPCL.
