Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma unveils roadmap to end water and electricity shortage, focusing on major water and energy projects across the state.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced a comprehensive development roadmap aimed at eliminating water and electricity shortages in the state. He said the government is fully committed to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Developed India–Developed Rajasthan” through a double-engine governance model.
Addressing a Gram Vikas Chaupal program at Khari ka Lamba Gram Panchayat in Bhilwara, the Chief Minister said the state government is prioritizing the needs of farmers, livestock owners, and youth while shaping its development policies.
Focus on Water Security and Infrastructure Development
The Chief Minister said Rajasthan has prepared a detailed roadmap to ensure adequate water availability across the state. He highlighted that long-pending water projects are now being actively implemented on the ground.
Key projects include the Ramjal Setu Link Project, Yamuna water agreement, modernization of the Indira Gandhi Nahar Project (IGNP), and strengthening of the Gang Canal system. Major river projects such as Mahi, Devas, Som-Kamla-Amba, and Brahmani are also being accelerated.
Push Toward Energy Self-Reliance
Bhajanlal Sharma stated that the state is working to make Rajasthan self-reliant in the energy sector. He said power generation has increased over the past two and a half years, positioning Rajasthan as an emerging “energy supplier” state.
The government aims to provide daytime electricity to farmers across the state by 2027. At present, 26 districts are already receiving daytime power supply for agricultural use.

Welfare Schemes for Farmers and Livestock Owners
The Chief Minister emphasized that both the central and state governments are supporting farmers through financial assistance. While the Centre provides ₹6,000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the state government contributes an additional ₹3,000.
Schemes such as drip irrigation, polyhouse farming, fencing support, and organic agriculture are helping farmers increase productivity and income.
In the dairy sector, milk processing capacity and collection centers are being expanded. Livestock owners are receiving ₹5 per litre subsidy, along with benefits under the Gopal Credit Card scheme and mobile veterinary units.
Employment and Youth Development Initiatives
The state government has issued appointment letters for 1.25 lakh posts in the last two and a half years. Recruitment for 1.35 lakh additional posts is underway, along with a planned recruitment calendar for further vacancies.
The Chief Minister reiterated strict action against paper leaks, ensuring transparency in recruitment exams.
Investment and Industrial Growth
Through the Rising Rajasthan Summit, investment proposals worth ₹35 lakh crore were signed, out of which ₹9 lakh crore have already been implemented on the ground. This is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities in the state.
Farmers Share Ground-Level Impact
Farmers present at the event shared positive outcomes from government schemes. Many reported increased income through drip irrigation, polyhouse farming, horticulture, and organic cultivation.
They highlighted reduced costs, improved productivity, and better water efficiency as key benefits.
