RAJASTHAN District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar: People engaged in begging should be ensured employment and children should be linked with education.

Jaipur District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has instructed the departmental officers to make every possible effort with mutual cooperation and coordination to make the district beggary free. He directed to ensure effective rehabilitation of people engaged in begging so that such persons leave beggary and start a respectable life on the basis of their skills and hard work.
The District Collector held a meeting on Monday in the Collectorate Auditorium regarding the rehabilitation of people involved in beggary. Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit will be organized in Jaipur from 9th December to 11th December.To ensure that the glorious tradition and image of Jaipur is not tarnished in this world class event, rehabilitation of the people involved in begging will be ensured as soon as possible.

The District Collector directed the Municipal Corporation officials to clean the identified rehabilitation homes, repair toilets, arrange basic services for the beggars in the rehabilitation homes,Linking the identified rehabilitation homes to the Shni Annapurna Rasoi Yojana, instructions were given to ensure adequate supply of food to the beggars through the scheme and also to provide employment to them by registering them in the Chief Minister’s Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Medical department officials should be given free treatment, TB, HIV and other tests and treatment of people involved in begging, and medical treatment in identified rehabilitation homes.And by providing testing facilities, instructions were given to connect each rehabilitation home with the nearest government hospital and ensure arrangements for testing and treatment of beggars.
In the meeting, officials of the District Child Protection Unit were asked to prepare a list of children involved in begging and make it available to the Education Department, children’s homes run by the department,Instructions were given to provide admission in destitute homes, to connect them with education under the Right to Education, to get admission in local schools, to present themselves before the Child Welfare Committee and to get admission in departmental homes.
The District Collector has directed the officials of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department to establish coordination and coordination with the police, voluntary organizations and other departmentsThrough voluntary organizations, people engaged in begging are identified after survey and given care as per their eligibility by getting them admitted in children’s home, women’s home, mentally handicapped home, old age home or rehabilitation home etc.Instructions were given to prepare Aadhar cards/Jan Aadhar cards etc. of the identified persons engaged in begging through voluntary organizations and link them to social security schemes on priority.
The District Collector has directed the officials of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation to organize a residential training program by forming a batch of 25 persons as per the list of persons engaged in beggary identified by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.Instructions were given to employ the trained persons by linking them with loans or grants and other schemes run by the departments and available by the banks, as well as to ensure their rehabilitation through follow up programs.
In the meeting, officials of Manav Seva Sansthan, Meri Pahal Sanstha, Saksham Social Upliftment and Development Institute, Sujas Cultural Seva Sansthan were directed to ensure necessary arrangements and advisory services as per departmental instructions at the selected shelter site.
In the meeting, Additional District Collector Shri Mukesh Mund along with Municipal Corporation, Jaipur Development Authority, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Medical and Health Department,Officials of District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee along with officials of related departments and officials of Human Services Institute, Meri Pahal Sanstha, Saksham Social Upliftment and Development Institute, Sujas Cultural Service Institute were present.
