Governor Haribhau Bagde: Foundation day of various states and union territories was celebrated at the Raj Bhavan.
The foundation day of Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu states and union territories was celebrated with gaiety at the Raj Bhavan here on Monday. On this occasion, Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde extended his best wishes to the local residents of these states and appealed for equal participation of all in ‘Developed India. ”
Governor Haribhau Bagde said that the states of united India reflect the culture of unity in diversity. Talking about the culture hidden in the nomenclature of states and their peculiarities, he said that every state is associated with the great culture of India. Highlighting the subtle aspects of knowledge, science and Vedic culture of ancient India, he said that the scientific discoveries that are known today as western scientists, were earlier told by our Vedas-Puranas and Bhaskaracharya and his daughter Lilavati. He also said that our country is a legacy of rich tradition of knowledge. Observing that the progress of various states after the integration of princely states was important, he said that the citizens there also had a big contribution in it.
Describing the celebration of the foundation day of the states as important under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, Governor Haribhau Bagde said that such events in the Raj Bhavan highlight the interconnectedness of cultures. Governor Bagade interacted with the representatives of various states and enquired about them. Secretary to Governor Dr.Prithviraj and Chief Special Officer Shri Rajkumar Sagar were also present on the occasion.
